For wood, industrial, UV, waterborne, powder, coil and leather coating makers. We choose matting and rheology silica by your target gloss, resin compatibility, particle size, surface treatment and application conditions — then confirm the value on real film gloss, haze and application behaviour.
Grades our customers usually benchmark against: Evonik ACEMATT® OK 390 and ACEMATT® 3400, W. R. Grace SYLOID® coating matting agents, and PQ / QEMETICA precipitated matting and rheology silicas.
Our route is not a brand-premium play: we start where the production problem is, run profile-matched screening, and earn the slot as a qualified second source — one validated sample at a time.
Three grades are put forward for this track. We do not publish typical-value tables here: the controlled TDS, COA and SDS for each grade are sent with the sample so that your evaluation runs on the document that will govern supply, not on brochure figures.
| Grade | Material | Where it sits in the screening |
|---|---|---|
| CENSIL 230W | Precipitated matting silica, specially treated | Specially treated for waterborne compatibility and refined surfaces. The first grade to test when a waterborne clear has to stay transparent while going matt. |
| CENSIL 525L | Precipitated matting silica, organically treated | Organically treated for resin compatibility and easy dispersion. The general-purpose matting route across wood, industrial, UV, plastic and leather coatings. |
| CENSIL 560N | Precipitated matting silica, untreated | Untreated. Balances matting, rheology, anti-settling and cost for industrial, coil, powder and conventional systems. |
On data. Final performance, compliance and application fit follow the supplier's latest TDS, the lot COA and your own test results. Ask for the grade-specific document set before you commit a formulation or a trial protocol.
| Validation dimension | Signal to check | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Gloss | 60° / 85° gloss and matting efficiency | The matting result |
| Transparency and haze | Clear-coat transparency and surface appearance | High-end appearance fit |
| Tactile feel | Fineness, slip and soft-touch character | Product differentiation |
| Dispersion and viscosity | Dispersing time, system viscosity, storage stability | Production fit |
| Anti-settling and sag | Can settling, sagging and film-build control | Delivery stability |
“Waterborne systems and refined surfaces try CENSIL 230W first; systems that need organic treatment and resin compatibility try CENSIL 525L; conventional industrial, coil and powder systems build the baseline on CENSIL 560N.”
